Mrs. Thornton

Mrs. Thornton has been a teacher in Paterson for seventeen years. For the past four years, she has taught middle school math at Paterson Academy for the Gifted and Talented. Before joining the staff of PAGT, Mrs. Thornton worked at School 18 as an eighth grade teacher. In 2012, Mrs. Thornton was named School 18’s Teacher of the Year. Currently, Mrs. Thornton teaches Algebra 1 and Geometry to 8th grade students at PAGT. She is also the Yearbook adviser, as well as coach of the Middle School Mathletes team.
Mrs. Thornton received her undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College in 1999. She completed a mathematics endorsement program at William Paterson University and holds a K-12 Mathematics certificate. Mrs. Thornton has also completed a five-course graduate program at Rutgers University in gifted education.
Outside of school, Mrs. Thornton loves to spend time with her husband, her beagle, Buddy, and her family. Mrs. Thornton and her family love to get together for Family Game Nights.
