Paterson Academy for the Gifted & Talented is committed to providing students with the best educational resources and technology.
In the fall of 2013 PAGT integrated iPad minis into its curriculum. All students in Grades 4-8 and their teachers use iPads inside their classrooms in order to enhance instructional practices and stimulate student learning
In the fall of 2014 PAGT began to implement Google Apps for Education (GAFE). Google Apps facilitates student centered collaborative learning in a cloud based environment. Applications include but are not limited to Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Sites, Gmail and Calendar. Apps are available on any device, anywhere anytime. As a result content is always accessible and collaboration can occur anywhere anytime.
A number of teachers have implemented Google Classroom as well. It is designed to help teachers create and collect assignments paperlessly, including time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google Document for each student. Each student has Drive folders for each subject to help keep them organized. Students can keep track of what's due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom.
